Bulls grow their antlers from early Spring until the depths of Winter. This male is days away from losing the grand and beautiful antlers he worked so hard to grow, the antlers he grew to impress a mate and bring the next generation of elk into existence. Once shed, the process will begin again, and maybe next winter his antlers will be even grander.
